Mozilla launches Firefox Send, their new free encrypted file sharing service created to give users the ability to securely send files as big as 2.5GB.
Firefox Send allows a user to upload a large file that email applications can’t handle, and send a link of that file to another person with the ability to set an expiration date and password for the file.
Users can also set Mozilla’s encrypted file sharing tool to disable access after a certain number of downloads have taken place for that specific file.
The issue of sending large files via email can be reduced using privacy focused encrypted file sharing tools like Firefox Send.
With data breaches on the rise, privacy has become an important feature within the tech space, as services like Mozilla Firefox Send gain mainstream adoption.
