Spotify is testing an additional subscription plan for two people named Premium Duo and is expected to be priced at $12.49/mo.
Current pricing for Spotify’s streaming music service goes for $9.99 for a premium subscription with one person, discounted by 50% for students.
Spotify’s family plan allows for four concurrent users at a rate of $14.99, as the new Premium Duo plan aims to grab a larger share of streaming music subscribers, especially as Apple’s music services are competing for market share.
Currently Premium Duo subscriptions are only available in a few countries, including Colombia, Poland, Ireland, Denmark and Chile, as testing allows for Spotify to gauge market demand for their new pricing model.
Spotify is also testing a new feature called ‘Duo Mix’ where two people can discover new music together through a shared auto-generated playlist.
