Vokswagen Golf GTI TCR’s concept was unveiled last year at the Wörthersee show in Austria. Vokswagen annonced their full intention to bring it to production and pre-orders would be taken for the car.
Vokswagen Golf GTI TCR is a hardcore GTI heavily inspired by the TCR competition. Although it is not an actual racing car, it is considered the most powerful GTI you can buy right now. Its style leaves the impression that you are getting Golf GTI with a small twist.
Compared to the regular GTI, the TCR is loaded up and freshened. Having in mind its 2.0-liter, turbocharged, four-banger expected to deliver 286 horsepower.
It is certainly much more powerful.
Vokswagen Golf GTI TCR will shoot to 62 mph in 5.6 seconds and reach 155 mph with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and the electronic gizmos that act as the limited-slip diff.
The combination of 290hp and less than 1,350kg of kerbweight certainly does an effective job on the road.
Furthermore the TCR logo is displayed on the ground when when the front are opened.
Vokswagen Golf GTI TCR is offered in two options packages. One of them includes Reifnitz 19-inch rims on 235/35 tires and the other – Pretoria 19-inch wheels with semi-slick 235/35 sports tires.
Pricing has been confirmed, Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR will start at €47,495 for either the three- or five-door model. Unfortunately, it will not be available for the US markets.
