WhatsApp launched their new version of their messaging app geared towards businesses, so that they can display their company details on a WhatsApp page, viewable by standard WhatsApp users.
Only available to a limited number of countries, including Mexico, India and Brazil, WhatsApp Business was released for Google’s Android phones last year and aims to help WhatsApp reach out to their customers with their business profile pages.
WhatsApp Business will also allow for customer engagement in the form of greetings and away messages, along with sharing other relevant business details such as email and a physical business address.
Although WhatsApp Business is free, the WhatsApp Business API is another tool with a paid service model for large companies that want to interact with their customers with notifications such as receipts or passes for airline tickets.
