Xbox Live into iOS and Android Gaming

In an effort to expand Microsoft’s services across multiple gaming platforms, Microsoft has opened up their Xbox Live community and network to iOS and Android games.

A strong believer in community, Microsoft made a push towards cloud gaming functionality as they introduced software developer kits (SKDs) to unite gaming communities onto a “consistent singular experience,” according to Microsoft’s gaming cloud chief, Kareem Choudhry.

Initially Microsoft focused on uniting the Minecraft gaming community through Xbox Live, and hopes continue building additional gaming partnerships.

Microsoft is providing gamers with the ability to customize aspects of their Xbox Live experience, and pick what elements they want included in their mobile gaming platforms, including gamer scores, stats, friends lists and other popular gaming features.

Microsoft is using their identity network to help with login support, privacy, and online safety to make the experience simple, secure and easy to use.
